Simply Messing About with Books…

With apologies to Kenneth Graham, …there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about with books. I continue being slow as molasses putting this book together. However, it is an extremely satisfying task, … Continue reading

Stepping Back……

Lately, I have been going through my old negatives, in a very unorganized sort of way. I do not have all my 3-ring binders that hold contact sheets and negatives, in one place. What I discovered was that there are … Continue reading

A few days ago I made this one signature zine with an 8.5×11 inch sheet of Red River 2-sided Premium Matte paper. I think it turned out well. The twist to making it is that I fold it so that … Continue reading

Clam Belt….

Wesley pulling a clam belt off the stern of the bird-dog. This past week we had a tropical storm come through the area and the waters were closed to clamming and oystering.

Then and Now…

Diana and her sister wrestling a large and very heavy bag of clams onto their bird-dog in 2004. Diana’s boat was one of the earler ones to adopt the cut-out transom which made it far easier to get the … Continue reading

On The Water…

I was out yesterday morning with Wesley, Jeffrey and Brett hauling  clam bags  aboard their bird-dog. The cut-off transom sure makes that easier.

Tumbling…

Jeffrey at the end of the tumbler, checking for bad clams and ‘trash.’ What this photo does not convey is the incredible speed, agility and team work the whole process of clamming requires and which these guys have perfected. That … Continue reading

Zine….

I have been playing around with making a  one sheet [8.5×11 inch] – 8 page zine since I ran across the instructions on the experimentwithnature blog. So far I have only put together one layout. Using Photoshop and layers the … Continue reading

Heading out on my ride Friday morning there were interesting clouds in the sky and I planned on stopping at No.4 to see if I could get a photo of the water and sky. Just as I got off the … Continue reading

This wonderfully atmospheric postcard from Dave arrived a while ago. We have been exchanging postcards, something that I have been involved in since before the digital age. Dave is much better at following through with the exchange than I am … Continue reading

Out in The Gulf…

Last week I went out with Wesley, Jeffrey and Brett to photograph while they planted and harvested clams. It was a foggy morning and when we got to the lease the water was just a bit too deep and frankly, … Continue reading
