20140203_5037nikhdrweb I truly love the vegetation around here, from the marsh grasses to the palmetto and scrub oaks. This is a few yards behind our house. Besides the beauty of nature it tells of the folly of human behavior. That boat is what remains of an old net-fishing boat. You can still see the net-table in the stern of the boat. Net fishing by small boats like this was outlawed in Florida in the mid 90’s. Just looking at the boat you can tell that small boats like this, crewed by one or two commercial fishermen surely weren’t going to be overfishing Florida waters. It’s a long story…
