“Fog and Bench….”

This morning a drippy fog covered us. I wasn’t sure if it would start raining, get warm, or cold, or what. We managed to kicked ourselves out the door for a walk nevertheless. On the way to town we picked up coffee and hot chocolate at the Jiffy and settled on one of the benches at the City Beach. The place was crowded with seagulls, but other than that, nothing much was happening. Trying to figure out the seagulls’ ‘pecking order’ and their social interaction did not get us very far either. So I tried to photograph the void created by the fog, thinking nothing much would come of it. However I really like the result. There was quite a bit more info in the image that I could have ‘gotten out of it,’ but I really like this version with its feeling of vast emptiness. Unfortunately the compressed web image of it does not quite convey that feeling.
