“Rains’ Restaurant…”

A couple of days ago I mentioned Rains’ Restaurant in my post, and that I had eaten my first Cedar Key meal there when I arrived here. This morning, when I was photographing a bird-dog boat in front of the Rains cottages I noticed for the first time that the restaurant sign was still there. A little worse for wear after thirty years or so, but still legible. I could not believe that I never noticed the sign before. I ended up taking this rather ho-hum photo. I am so glad and excited about this little find though that I have to go ahead an post the photo.

  1. Dave says:

I guess in that quiet little key, everyone that’s likely to be a customer already knows where it is

  2. That’s pretty much true. Unfortunately Rains’ has been closed for a long time, so just is just a ‘shadow of its former self.’
