…of going through ones old stuff is running across work that has lain forgotten amongst a pile of old photos and papers. This is a print of my friend Milinda I made many moons ago, when I first started lith printing. I wanted to combine text and photos, something I am terrible at. First making a digital negative using Burkholder’s Color Table method, I then contact printed it on Forte Polywarmtone paper, my favorite paper for making lith prints. When I posted the image I caught a bit of ‘flak’ for putting the writing [which is part of a quote from Proust], across her throat. Probably a valid point. However, when I just ran across the print I realized that it still ‘speaks to me,’ and thus I am posting it. – This is one of the early images in which I ‘dared’ to throw out the rules, and did not give a hoot about ‘details in the shadows’ and all that.
